Dear Parents;

I will  like to inform you that I will be contacting  parents this week. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Also,   you could  pick up your child's package at the school office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These are activities will be for your child to do classwork at home. It would be a great idea to acquire the rest of the booklets so that your child can use them for classwork and their summer vacation. Please bring shopping bags for the booklets. As you may know school will en on June 20th, 2020.

Also, I would like parents to know that I have been making phone calls to see how your children and members are doing, also to help you with your concerns about your child. Zoom lesson on May 13, at 11:00 AM, May 14th, at 11:30 AM, and May 15th, at 11:00 AM The children were divide into four groups. I will let you know your child's group, and when to log into Zoom.

Lessons for May 15, 2020

Pray:  Our Father

Pledge of Allegiance:

  • Ask your child what the colors of the flag means : red means courage; white means peace and purity; blue means justice.
  • How many stars are in the american flag (50).
Calendar:

Vocabulary Words: mother, move, Mary, miracles, muffins, mittens, monkey, money, mouse


  • First, have your child spell May.
  • Then ask him for words with initial sound /m/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date? (Say day, month, number, year) Example: Today is Friday May 15, the year 2020.
  • Have the children count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.
  • Have your child sing  "There are Seven Days"

Religion:

Singing and Dancing

Aim:The children will learn to appreciate how wonderfully made by God they are how they can enjoy singing and dancing.

Vocabulary Words: sing, dance, enjoy, happy, sad

Strategies:
  • First, review the lessons on singing and dancing form day before.
  • Then play some happy music, and ask the children how they feel as they listen to the music.
  • Then I will  play sad music and ask whether they feel different as they listen to the music.
  • Then I will encourage the children to note the differences in the music being played.
  • Then I will ask: What is your favorite song in preschool? Show how you like to move when are dancing? How do you feel when you sing and dance to that song? 
  • Summarize what we learned.


Math:


Explore Capacity

Aim: Explore and compare capacity by filling and measuring containers: determine which container holds more and which holds less.

Vocabulary Words: more, less, capacity

Strategies:
  • First, discuss when and why we need to know about capacity.
  • Then, display two containers one tall and one short and wide.
  • Then ask: Which container holds more?
  • Then ask your child to  pour any liquid in the tall container, then pour liquid in low wide bowl.
  • Then ask your child to determine which one holds more.
  • Then distribute eggs and two containers, one tall and one low and wide bowl.
  • Then ask your to  count the eggs in each bowl and write the number, and point to the one that holds more.
  • I will ask: Which bowl holds more eggs? Which one holds fewer?
  • Summarize what we learned.

Reading:

Rhymes

Aim: The children will learn to:
  • Recognize words that rhyme.
  • Match them.

Vocabulary Words: fix, sticks, six, tricks, play, day goose loose, hut, shut


Strategies:
  • First ask your n where do chicks come from and what kind of animals are the chickens..
  • Then say that they are going to hear a story they have listen to before about chicks, and their tricks and words that rhyme.
  • Then  give examples of rhyming words: cat-hat, row-bow, mouse-house.
  • Then review book con concepts: Tittle, illustrator, parts of the story.

  • Then stop when you listen to two words that rhyme, and ask your child if they rhyme.
  • Then continue identifying words that rhyme. words that rhyme
  • Then we will review the story.
  • Then ask your child: Who are the characters in the story? What was the problem? How was the problem solved? What words rhyme in the story? Can you make your own rhyming words.

  • Then say the name of two pictures, and  if the words rhyme and match.
  • Finally, summarize what we have learned.

Homework: Write E e, F f, G g 3X in the Notebook

Story Time: The Sheep that Hatch an Egg by Gemma Merino


Aim: The children will learn to accept them selves not by how they look , but how they are.

Vocabulary Words: shiny, silky, wool, perfect, proud, ridiculous, wild, messy, tangles

Strategies:
  • First your child how wonderfully made they are even if they have messy, tangled, wild hair.
  • Then ask if they know what do sheep have as their covering (wool).
  • Then tell them they are going to listen to a story about a sheep who loved to take care of her wool.

  • Then review the story with your child.
  • The ask: Who are the characters? What happened when they cut he wool? What happened to her wool after that?(She let it grow, and grow.) What wonderful thing happened to her?(She thought she had laid an egg.) What lesson did she learned? What did you learned from the story?


Suggestions:

  • Have your child draw or color.
  • Have your child pray every morning.
  • Read to your child every day and ask questions.
  • Help in the daily chores.
  • Play games on ABCya!
  • Play Alphabet or Number Bingo, I Spy, legos, puzzles, exercise, or meditate.
