Dear Parents;


I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support throughout the year, and for making this year a very special one for the children, Mrs. Rosa, Mrs. Vasquez, and myself. Also, I would like thank the children in for all the warmth, the memories, and the learning that we have share this school year. God bless you.

I am so sorry for the inconvenient we had for our virtual End of the Year Ceremony. However, we are going to have our ceremony on Friday. I will call today to ask you what is the best time for you and your child for the ceremony. Also to set a time and date for report card meetings, we are able to do it  by phone or virtual

Tomorrow I will be making phone call everyday If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Zoom Lessons will be on Monday at 11:00, Tuesday at 11:30 AM. On Wednesday at 11:00 we will begin our virtual ceremony. Please make sure you log in on time.

End of the Year Farewell  Zoom will go on for those students who tuition is up to date in Prek-1.  Zoom sessions will continue until June 18. There will be a Parent Teacher conference on June 19th, and June 22 for those parents which tuition payments are up to date. I will call to find out what is the best time of the day for you. 

I would like to remind you that there are still some work package at the school office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These are activities will be for your child to do classwork at home. It would be a great idea to acquire the rest of the booklets so that your child can use them for classwork and their summer vacation. Please bring shopping bags for the booklets. As you may know school will en on June 18th, 2020.

Pray:  Our Father

Pledge of Allegiance:

  • Ask your child what the colors of the flag means : red means courage; white means peace and purity; blue means justice.

Strategies:
  • First, have your child spell June.
  • Then ask him for words with initial sound /j/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date? (Say day, month, number, year) Example: Today is Tuesday June 16th, the year 2020.
  • Have the children count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.

Religion:

God Is With Us

Aim: The children will learn to appreciate that  God is always with us.

Vocabulary Words: God, care, love, alone, together

Strategies:

  • Then ask: What have you learn about God this year? How would you show that God is always with you? How can you show God that you will keep him in your heat and in your life.

  • Then explain that they are going to celebrate together that God is always with us.
  • Then have your child say what he learned about God.
  • Then I will ask each child the following question: How would you celebrate God's love for you? What would you tell a friend about God? Why? 

Reading:

Sequence of Events

Aim: The children will learn to listen for sequencing, and rhyming words.

Vocabulary Words: sequence

Strategies:
  • Then  lead your child in reciting "Jack and Jill" several times.
  • Then  help your child recite the beginning and end of "Jack and Jill."
  • I will point to the lines that tells what happens at the beginning .
  • I will ask: What did Jack and Jill did at the beginning of the of the rhyme?
  • Then I will ask the children to recite the beginning of "Jack and Jill" with me.
  • I will ask your to identify rhyming words in the story.
  • Then, have your child recite the end of the rhyme alone.
  • Then ask: What happened at the end of the rhyme?
  • Then ask your child to act out the rhyme "Jack and Jill."
  • Ask: What is the tittle of the rhyme? What happened at the beginning of the rhyme? What happened at end of the rhyme? What are some words from the rhyme that are rhyming words?

Math:

One Fewer, One More

Aim: The will learn to create a group with one fewer object than another group.

Vocabulary Words: fewer, one more

Strategies:
  • First,  display two lines of three cubes or any other objects each.
  • Then go over vocabulary word: equal,more, fewer
  • Then ask your child if the groups are equal. (The same)
  • Then take away one cube from one group. 
  • Then ask: How many cubes are in each group? Are the groups are equal now? What did you do to find out which group has one fewer?
  • Continue the to the same with other numbers of cubes or other objects.

  • Then discuss with your child that  these family members, friend , or pet are happy with God forever.

Math:

Groups of 9

Aim: The  children will learn to:
  • Make groups of 9 and 10
  • Identify groups of 9 and 10

Vocabulary Words: groups, eight, and nine, create

Strategies:
  • First,  distribute a M&M's or Cheerios and a jars or a plate to your child.
  • Then tell your child a story problem: Jagr had 9 M&M. Then he added one more 
  • Have the your child count ( 9 M&M then add one more.
  • Have the children count the M&Ms and tell how many M&M his has in the plate.
  • Then ask: How many M&Ms did Jgar place plate. Is that a group 9 or 10 M&Ms? How do you know? How many M&M do you need to make a group of 10? How do you know you have 10? (You counted.)
  • Then continue the activity with different numbers of M&M.


Story Time: Top, Middle, Bottom


Reading:

Predicting outcomes

Aim: The children will listen to "Top, Middle, Bottom" and will make predictions.

Vocabulary Words: predict, outcomes, trick, root, stem

Strategies:
  • First, introduce the story "Top, Middle, Bottom."
  • Then discuss with your child ways people can tricked.

  • Then tell your child the characters as they appear on the video.
  • Set a purpose for reading by telling the children that we are going to listen a story about a hare, and a bear who work in farm.
  • I will read "Top, Middle, Bottom" I will stop  periodically to have the children remember what happens next in the story and answer the following questions: Was the the bear a hard worker? What about the hare? Do you think the bear will agree to letting hare plant the farm?  What did hare do to bear? What do you think will happen next? I will continue reading the story and stop.
  • Ask: What did bear tell hare about his tricks? Did bear and hare learned a lesson? What did they learned? What did you learn?

  • Then I will ask the children the following questions: How have you grown since you were infant? How has growing helped you learn new skills? What would you like to learn now? What do you need to do in order to learn that skill?
  • I will display a picture, have the child identify its picture, and tell how he/she has grown and changed.
  • Have the children color themselves in in the outline provided.

 Reading:

Main Idea, Make predictions

Aim: The children will listen to "The Ants and the Grasshopper" and will recognize the main idea and make predictions.

Vocabulary Words: main idea

Strategies:
  • I will ask the children to recall what the story "City Mouse Country Mouse" was about.
  • Ask the children what they learned from the story.
  • Then discuss city and country.
  • Then set a purpose for listening by asking the children to listen to find out what happens next in the story.
  • Remind the children  how listening for clues help them find the main idea.

  • Then I stop and ask the following questions to make predictions: What do you think that City Mouse will like the food Country mouse is going to give him?   • Review story with the children.
  • Ask the children the following questions: What was the story about? What was the problem in the story? Do you think Country Mouse will visit City Mouse again?  Do you think the City Mouse will visit Country Mouse again? Why? 

Math:

Groups of 8 and 9

Aim: The  children will learn to:
  • Make groups of 8 and 9
  • Identify groups of 8 and  9

Vocabulary Words: groups, eight, and nine, create

Strategies:

  • Then  make 9 muffins out of construction paper
  • Then ask your child to solve the problem: The moose was hungry and wanted to eat muffins, so he ask the child to give him 8 muffins.
  • Then I will ask: How many muffins did the moose want? Can you make a group of eight muffins? Is that a group of 8 or 9?
  • Then continue with the story.
  • I will have have the children add one more muffin and ask: If you have a group of 8 how many more do you need to make a group of 9? How do you know you have eight muffins? What did you to to find out? What was the last number you counted?

  • I will tell the children to remember to say thank you to God for everything you have and no matter where you are during the summer.

Aim: The children will learn to classify objects appropriately to different weather and season.

Vocabulary Words: weather, season

Strategies:
  • First, ask your child to name the four seasons.
  • Then ask which season is their favorite and why.

  • I will ask your child what is the poem about.

Aim:The children will learn to identify and create groups of up to six objects.

Vocabulary Words: group, six

Strategies:
  • Ask your child to  place in order numbers 1-10.
  • Then ask your child count forwards 1-10, and backwards 10-1.
  • Then I will ask the children identify and read numbers 1-10.
  • Then use any objects to demonstrate how to make a group of six objects.
  • Then give your child six objects  and the number 6.
  • Then ask your child to count and  place five objects on the card with the number six, then have your child count and tell how many they have.
  • Then ask your child to add one more until they have 6 objects.
  • Then I will ask:How many objects you need to make a  group six?  What did you do to make the group of six? (Count the objects as they make the group.) What was the last number you counted? (The last number counted tell how many there are.)
  • Continue with other number cards from 1-10.

Aim:The children will:
  • Identify groups of 5.
  • Identify number 5 . 

Vocabulary Words: five, groups

Strategies:
  • First, make and display number cards from 1-10
  • Then have your child  identify and place in order numbers 0-10.
  • Then display a bags with the number 1-5.
  • Then distribute dotted cards from 1-5 to your child.  
  • Then have your child count the dots and place them in the correspondent number bag.
  • Ask: How many dots are on this card? In what bag does this card belong?
