12/14/15 to 12/18/15

Dear Parents,

Monday, December 14th, there will be noon dismissal.

On Tuesday, December 15th, there will be a Christmas assembly in the auditorium at 9:00 a.m., which will be approximately 45 minutes.  Boys should wear khaki pants, a red turtleneck, and black shoes.  Girls should wear red skirts, white turtlenecks, white tights and black shoes.  This was informed to all parents, grandparents, and babysitters two weeks ago.

On Friday, there will be Lessons and Carols in the church beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Afterwards, our class will have their Christmas party.  We are asking for $5 for the Christmas party and a bag of candy to share with their classmates. Children may wear the same outfit as Tuesday.

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Also, thank you all for bringing in canned food.

We are still learning about animal habitats.  We are also working on the letters E and F.  In Math, our class is working on the concepts of equal, same, fewer, and more.  In Religion, the children are working on the topic, "Wonderful Me."  Please review homework with the children.

Dear Parents,

Reminder the canned food drive continues until this Wednesday.  On Tuesday, November 24th, our class will take part in a Thanksgiving Show in the auditorium beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Wednesday, November 25th, the children are allowed to dress up (no sneakers or jeans) for our Thanksgiving Party.  Dismissal on Wednesday, November 25th is at 3:00 p.m.  There will be no after school program on Wednesday.

Dear Parents,

This Friday is Report Card Day.  School will be dismissed at noon and parent-teacher conferences will take place between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Each parent will have 5 minutes.

We are still collecting cans for our food drive.  We are working on the letter Dd and its sound.  In Math, we are creating patterns using different objects.  In Social Studies we are covering community helpers.  In Science, the children are identifying the different characteristics of animals, people, and plants.

11/9/15 - 11/13/15

Dear Parents,

November is Canned Food Month.  Canned food is collected to be distributed to the home bound elderly.  During the month also dress down day on Fridays for $1 - the money collected is used to purchase the turkeys for the distribution. Parents wishing to donate a little extra are asked to leave it off with either Alba or Mrs. Resto. Last year we collected enough money to purchase 17 turkeys.

This Wednesday, November 11th, school is closed in observance of Veterans Day.

This week we are reviewing the letter Cc, its sound, how it is formed, and words beginning with Cc.  In Math we are doing size patterns and shape patterns.  In Social Studies and Religion, the children will be learning about community helpers.

Dear Parents,

10/26/15 to 10/30/15

Dear Parents,

Assignments are given on a daily with the exception of Fridays.  All homework is dated and pages are marked.  Please make sure your child uses the bathroom facilities before entering the classroom in the mornings.

Have the children start practicing sorting by color, size, shape, and in other different ways.  The letter of the week is "Bb".  The children will begin to form the letter "Bb" and learn words beginning with the letter. They should continue practicing their five senses at home.  

The Halloween Parade is on Friday, October 30th, starting at 9:00 a.m.  Parents are invited but must leave immediately after the parade is over.  Also, we are asking for $5 to order food for our classroom party, and bring a bag of chocolate bite-sized candy by Wednesday.

Dear Parents,

Tuesday, October 20th, at 8:30 a.m. we will have our parent-teacher meeting regarding the curriculum.  Every Friday is dress down day.  All your child needs to do is bring $1 to dress down.  Please sign your child in and out of school.

BREAKFAST BEGINS AT 7:00 A.M. AND ENDS AT 7:45 A.M. PLEASE NO BREAKFAST AFTER 7:45 A.M.

Make sure your child comes in full uniform - including the correct school colors.

Progress Reports will be sent home with students on Thursday, October 22nd.

Finally, we are asking you to bring in $5 for the Halloween party.

Dear Parents,

This Wednesday, October 14th, at 9:00 a.m. the children will sing a song in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Parents are welcome.

Now every Friday students may come in play clothes if they bring in $1.  Please label everything your child brings in with his/her name.  Review homework with the children every day.

Please sign your child in and out every day.  Breakfast is from 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.  No breakfast is allowed in the classroom after 7:45 a.m.

Finally, there is a Parent-Teacher meeting on Tuesday, October 20th at 8:30 a.m.

Dear Parents,

Please make sure your child's forms and supplies are turned in by Tuesday, September 29th.  Friday, October 2nd will be Mass at 9:00 AM in celebration of The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.  At this annual Mass in honor of St. Francis of Assisi students may bring in domesticated animals from home to have them blessed.  Because of allergies of some students - dogs and cats will have to be picked up by a parent after Mass. Parents are welcome to join us.


There will be an early dismissal at 12:00 noon also on Friday, October 2nd.The After School Program will be in session for the day and parents who are in need of child care just for Friday should see either Mr. Marcial or Mrs. Resto in the school office.


Breakfast is from 7:00am to 7:45am.  Finally, please do not forget to sign your child out when they are picked up.

Dear Parents,

A School and Home Connection letter will be sent home on Monday, September 14th.  Also all supplies and forms due Monday as agreed in our parent-teacher meeting.  Noon dismissal this Friday, December 18th.  After school program will begin at noon right after dismissal.

Please read to your children every night.  Check for homework every day.  Label every thing your child brings with his or her name.  Please bring an absence note for days your child is absent.  If late to school, you must get a late pass from the office.

2015-2016 Parents' Letter and School Supplies List

Dear Parents,

     I am delighted to welcome you and your child to our Preschool Program. Let's work together to make this a joyous growing experience for your child.

    Our program is designed to develop awareness and nurturing of each child's precious spirit. Our program recognizes that our Pre-K students are eager learners even though their social, fine and gross motor skills, language and cognitive abilities are not fully developed.

     This program is designed to meet the individual needs of the early learner and teach children how to share, socialize and function in a group. The group lays the foundation of faith and guides the children in daily prayer and academic activities designed to prepare them for Pre-K second level.

Supplies (Please have everything labeled with your child’s name)
1. 3 plastic folders
2. 1 Pre-K notebook
3. 1 coloring book
4. Child’s baby picture and family picture
5. A change of clothes
6. Clorox wipes
7. Baby wipes
8. A roll of paper towel
9. A can of Lysol Spray
10. Printing/Copy paper
11. 2 Glue Sticks
12. Box of tissues
13. Box of triangular crayons
14. Hand
15. 2 reams of copy paper
16. 1 ream of construction paper

Reminder

1. Bring your child to school on time (after 8:00 am your child needs a late pass);
2. Bring absent note if your child is absent (IT’ S A MUST!) It is required by the Department of Education;
3. Read calendar carefully for early dismissals;
4. Send your child’s supplies on time;
5. Bring Emergency cards on time;
6. Send homework on time;
7. If you want to throw a birthday party in the lunchroom, please inform me at least two weeks before the party date;
8. If you need to talk to me about your child’s progress, you must see make an appointment;
9. Please, no outside toys and blankets allowed;
10. Read to your child every night (15 minutes);
11. Label everything your child brings to class;
12. Your child must wear a gym t-shirt and jogging pants on gym days (Gym day TBD);
13. Children should have breakfast every day before 7:45am;
14. No glass or plastic bottles allowed; juice should be in a juice box or the aluminum packaging;
15. Full uniform required every day except gym day;
16. Shoes should have velcro;
17. No belts for boys; make sure pants fit properly.

Children must be at school NO LATER THAN 10:30 a.m.  Three people are allowed per child for the ceremony.  Please speak to me if you have any questions.

The tenth month cycle beginning in August of 2014 has the last payment due at the end of May thereby guaranteeing that all tuition and fees would be paid by June 1st. Therefore there will be tuition suspension day on June 1st wherein students will not be able to attend class until the balance for the year is paid. Please plan accordingly. Below are this week's lesson plans.  Mr. Woods would like the parents of Pre-K1 to attend a meeting on Tuesday, March 17th at 8:00 a.m. regarding next years' Pre-K program.

Also, reminder Ms. Alma will be having a jazz concert on Wednesday, March 18th at 6:00 p.m. to raise funds for the stage curtains in the lunchroom. Ms. Alma will conduct the concert for 45 minutes and then there will be a question and answer period following the concert. Tickets will be available in the tuition office on Tuesday or at the door. Price is $5.00 for person.

Dear Parents,

Below are this week's lesson plans.  Please have the kids practice writing their names, numbers and letter.  We also need Clorox wipes and paper towels.

On Tuesday March 10th, parents will be able to visit their child's classroom from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM. The visit is a view of the classroom and not time to engage me in conversation. I will continue teaching while you observe your child, the other children in the class and their interactions with me.

The Ideal Uniform Company in library for summer uniform on Tuesday, March 10th between 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon.

Miss Alma will be hosting a concert on April 18th to raise money for new curtains for the stage in the auditorium.The tickets will be $5.00 and will be available in the tuition office beginning next Monday.. The concert will be followed by a question and answer period following the concert.Miss Alma works with students in PreK, Kindergarten and grades 1, 2 and 3.

Dear Parents,

As you are aware of, there are changes to the snack rules due to Article 43.  Children are to bring a snack that does not require heating.  This means a sandwich, a piece of fruit and a juice, or something similar.  We will not be heating anymore food in the microwave.

Below are this week's lesson plans.  Note, we will have a Valentine's Day party on Friday.  Please bring $3 for your child and a bag of soft candy for the party.  Children are also open to bringing Valentine's Day cards for their classmates.  If you are going to bring cards, please be mindful to bring one card per child and leave no child out of the sentiment.  Please bring the money, candy and cards on Thursday so we may organize it all for the party.

Friday is also Red Day, so students are permitted to wear Red shirt, pants and/or skirt without needing a NUT card.  Noon dismissal that day.

Below are this week's lesson plans.  To repeat what Mr. Woods wrote, "Students in PreK and Kindergarten have been assigned a cubby outside the classroom for their coat and book bag. Parents when dropping off their child should look at the names printed at the bottom of the cubby in order to have their child's coat placed on the proper hook. The book bags are to left outside the classroom also and the children will retrieve their belongings after school has started for the day. In this way they will learn the skill of self-reliance."
