Dear Parents,
I am delighted to welcome you and your child to our Preschool Program. Let's
work together to make this a joyous growing experience for your child.
Our
program is designed to develop awareness and nurturing of each child's precious
spirit. Our program recognizes that our Pre-K students are eager learners even
though their social, fine and gross motor skills, language and cognitive
abilities are not fully developed. This program is also designed to meet the
individual needs of the early learner and teach children how to share,
socialize and function in a group. The group lays the foundation of faith and
guides the children in daily prayer and academic activities designed to prepare
them for Pre-K second level.
A
typical Pre-K day entails:
- Opening exercises (Welcome prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, calendar and weather)
- Religion (lessons via circle time)
- Restroom Break
- Reading/Language (rhymes, little books, big books, oral language development, phonetic awareness activities, auditory discrimination and listening skills, visual discrimination, knowledge of the alphabet, development of writing activities, beginning print and book concepts, comprehension skills, learning center activities)
- Math (positions and classifications, comparisons and patterns, number readiness and graphing, numbers 0-20, adding and subtracting, fractions, measurements, geometry)
- Story time (theme of the week)/Arts and Crafts
- Music
- Restroom Break
- Nap
- Snack (No glass bottles, only box juice and no chips)
- Circle Time: Science or Social Studies
