Dear Parents;

This week I will begin making phone calls let let you know that we are planning a virtual End of the Year Ceremony, also to let you know what we will be doing, and how we are going to get the children involved. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Zoom Lessons will begin. Monday at 11:00 AM, Wednesday 11:00, Thursday 11:30 PM, and Friday at 11: AM. 

Also,   there are still some work package at the school office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These are activities will be for your child to do classwork at home. It would be a great idea to acquire the rest of the booklets so that your child can use them for classwork and their summer vacation. Please bring shopping bags for the booklets. As you may know school will en on June 17th, 2020. There will be a Parent Teacher conference on June 19th, and June 22. I will be making calls to see what is the best time of the day for you.

Pray:  Our Father

Pledge of Allegiance:

  • Ask your child what the colors of the flag means : red means courage; white means peace and purity; blue means justice.
  • How many stars are in the american flag (50).
Calendar:

Vocabulary Words: jump, joy, jaguar, Jesus, jello, jeans, jacket, jeep, John, jelly, jar


Strategies:
  • First, have your child spell June.
  • Then ask him for words with initial sound /j/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date? (Say day, month, number, year) Example: Today is Tuesday  June 9, the year 2020.
  • Have the children count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.

Religion:

Caring for God's World

Aim: The children will learn to show ways they can care for God's creation.

Vocabulary Words: reuse, reduce, recycle

Strategies:
  • First ask your child to name God's creation.
  • Then have your child tell ways they can help God's creation.

  • Then invite your child to acting out different situations: What should you do with the empty paper cup? What should you do with the left over from their lunch? What should you  do with the newspaper your father was reading? What do you think will happen to the news paper? (It will be reuse again.) why should we take care of the Earth?

Reading:

Opposites

Aim: The children will learn to recognize words that means opposite.

Vocabulary Words: up and down, of and on, under and over

Strategies:


Math:

Number 1-5

Aim:The children will:
  • Identify groups of 5.
  • Identify number 5 . 

Vocabulary Words: five, groups

Strategies:
  • First, make and display number cards from 1-10
  • Then have your child  identify and place in order numbers 0-10.
  • Then display a bags with the number 1-5.
  • Then distribute dotted cards from 1-5 to your child.  
  • Then have your child count the dots and place them in the correspondent number bag.
  • Ask: How many dots are on this card? In what bag does this card belong?

  • Ask your child to match objects to its corresponding number.

Homework: Write the numbers 6, 7, and 8 3 X each
