Dear Parents;

This week I will begin making phone calls let let you know that we are planning a virtual End of the Year Ceremony, also to let you know what we will be doing, and how we are going to get the children involved. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Zoom Lessons will begin. Monday at 11:00 AM, Wednesday 11:00, Thursday 11:30 PM, and Friday at 11: AM. 

Also,   there are still some work package at the school office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These are activities will be for your child to do classwork at home. It would be a great idea to acquire the rest of the booklets so that your child can use them for classwork and their summer vacation. Please bring shopping bags for the booklets. As you may know school will en on June 18th, 2020. There will be a Parent Teacher conference on June 19th, and June 22. I will be making calls to see what is the best time of the day for you.

Pray:  Our Father

Pledge of Allegiance:

  • Ask your child what the colors of the flag means : red means courage; white means peace and purity; blue means justice.
  • How many stars are in the american flag (50).
Calendar:

Vocabulary Words: jump, joy, jaguar, Jesus, jello, jeans, jacket, jeep, John, jelly, jar


Strategies:
  • First, have your child spell June.
  • Then ask him for words with initial sound /j/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date? (Say day, month, number, year) Example: Today is Wednesday June 9, the year 2020.
  • Have the children count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.

Religion:

God Is with Us

Aim: The children will learn to appreciate how much God loves each of us.

Vocabulary Words: friendship, love, care, share, family, prey

Strategies:
  • First, start the lesson by having sing  "Yes Jesus Loves Me":

  • Call the attention of the pictures on video.
  • Then ask: Who did the animals feel? (happy) Why are they happy? (Because Jesus loves them.) How do you know Jesus loves you? 
  • I will explain to the children that no matter where they are or what fun we have during the summer, God and Jesus will be always love you and will be with you.
  • I will tell the children to remember to say thank you to God for everything you have and no matter where you are during the summer.

Reading:

Classifying

Aim: The children will learn to classify objects appropriately to different weather and season.

Vocabulary Words: weather, season

Strategies:
  • First, ask your child to name the four seasons.
  • Then ask which season is their favorite and why.
  • then read the poem "June': https://www.woojr.com/june-poems-kids/sunny-june-poem-kids/
  • I will ask your child what is the poem about.
  • Have your child list things that mentioned in the poem "June."
  • Tell your child that June is a warm month were many outside activities can be done such as visit the aquariums, zoos, and parks.
  • Then discuss summer and winter.
  • Have your  classify ocean animals.

  • Ask the children the following questions: What is the name of the animal? How many live on water? How many can fly? How many are pets? How many are wild animals? How many spend time in trees?
  • Have your child tell and write how many  animal of each category.

Math:

Numbers 1-10


Aim:The children will learn to identify and create groups of up to six objects.

Vocabulary Words: group, six

Strategies:
  • Ask your child to  place in order numbers 1-10.
  • Then ask your child count forwards 1-10, and backwards 10-1.
  • Then I will ask the children identify and read numbers 1-10.
  • Then use any objects to demonstrate how to make a group of six objects.
  • Then give your child six objects  and the number 6.
  • Then ask your child to count and  place five objects on the card with the number six, then have your child count and tell how many they have.
  • Then ask your child to add one more until they have 6 objects.
  • Then I will ask:How many objects you need to make a  group six?  What did you do to make the group of six? (Count the objects as they make the group.) What was the last number you counted? (The last number counted tell how many there are.)
  • Continue with other number cards from 1-10.
