Dear Parents;

I would like to thank the parents and children for all your prayers and support during my husband illness. I was very tough, however he is dong very well, and will be out of the hospital this week.

Tomorrow I will begin making phone calls to see how you and tour child are doing, also to help you with your concerns about your child. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Zoom Lessons will begin. Monday at 11 AM, Tuesday at 11:30 AM, Wednesday 11:30, Thursday 11:30 PM, and on Friday at 11:00.

Also,   you could  pick up your child's package at the school office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These are activities will be for your child to do classwork at home. It would be a great idea to acquire the rest of the booklets so that your child can use them for classwork and their summer vacation. Please bring shopping bags for the booklets. As you may know school will en on June 24th, 2020.

Pray:  Our Father

Pledge of Allegiance:

  • Ask your child what the colors of the flag means : red means courage; white means peace and purity; blue means justice.
  • How many stars are in the american flag (50).
Calendar:

Vocabulary Words: jump, joy, jaguar, Jesus, jello, jeans, jacket, jeep, John, jelly, jar


Strategies:
  • First, have your child spell June.
  • Then ask him for words with initial sound /j/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date? (Say day, month, number, year) Example: Today is Monday June 1, the year 2020.
  • Have the children count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.

Reviewing our Senses

Sense of touch and sight

Aim: The children will learn to appreciate the sense of sight and touch.

Vocabulary Words: eyes, hands, senses

Strategies:
  • First, tell your child that he/she is going to  learn about a wonder full gift that God has given us.Its the gits of our senses. (see, hear, smell, taste, and touch) And that he gave us our senses so we can explore the wonderful world he created for us.
  • Then explain to your child that living things gather information about the world through their senses, and senses help living things survive.

  • Then ask: What can your eyes tell you about a carrot? What can your tongue tell you about a cupcake? What can your ears tell you about a fire truck? Which of your sense can you use when you get a flower? If your are are eating pizza what senses will you use?

Reading:

Aim: The children will write their name for a special project.

Vocabulary Words: name, uppercase, lowercase.

Strategies:
  • First, explain to the child that they are going top write their name for a special project.
  • I will ask the children to spell their name. The to identify the uppercase letter in their name.
  • Then I will ask: Where do we place the lowercase in your name? What kind of letters do we use for the rest of you name?
  • Then distribute a white paper, and crayons.
  • Have the children write their name using different color crayons.
  • If your child has any difficulties writing their name, then help the child write their name.

Homework : Write the letters Ww, Xx, and Yy in the Notebook 3X each


Math:

Shapes in the Real World

Aim: The children will learn to use models to show equal parts of a whole.

Strategies:
  • First, make a drawing of a pizza pie..
  • Then explain to your child that you would like to share the pizza with a child.
  • Then ask your that if you are going to share with them, they  need to cut the pizza into two equal pieces.
  • Then fold the pizza in half.
  • Then I will tell that this is a half of a pizza pie.
  • Then have your child place the two halves together to form the whole pie.
  • Then  ask: What shape is the whole pizza. (circle)
  • Then repeat the activity cutting the pie into three equal parts.
  • I will ask the children: What shape is this? How many equal parts does it have?
  • Finally I will repeat activity using the pieces cut into fourths.
