Dear Parents;

I would like to thank the parents and children for all your prayers and support during my husband illness. I was very tough, however he is dong very well, and will be out of the hospital this week.

Tomorrow I will begin making phone calls to see how you and tour child are doing, also to help you with your concerns about your child. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Zoom Lessons will begin. Monday at 11 AM, Tuesday at 11:30 AM, Wednesday 11:30, Thursday 11:30 PM. Friday's Zoom has been cancelled.

Also,   you could  pick up your child's package at the school office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These are activities will be for your child to do classwork at home. It would be a great idea to acquire the rest of the booklets so that your child can use them for classwork and their summer vacation. Please bring shopping bags for the booklets. As you may know school will en on June 24th, 2020.

Pray:  Our Father

Pledge of Allegiance:

  • Ask your child what the colors of the flag means : red means courage; white means peace and purity; blue means justice.
  • How many stars are in the american flag (50).
Calendar:

Vocabulary Words: jump, joy, jaguar, Jesus, jello, jeans, jacket, jeep, John, jelly, jar


Strategies:




  • First, have your child spell June.
  • Then ask him for words with initial sound /j/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date? (Say day, month, number, year) Example: Today is Friday June 5, the year 2020.
  • Have the children count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.

Reading:

Anti-Bullying


Aim:The children will learn how to prevent bullying.

Vocabulary Words: feelings, hurt, bully

Strategies:
  • First, ask the children how would they feel if someone made fun of them, or called them names.
  • Then tell your child that they are going to listen to "The Ant Bully": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDg4X8gXIBE
  • Then we will review the story with the children.
  • Then I will ask: Who was bullied in the story? What did the bully do to the little boy? Who also became a bully? What did the bully do to the ants? What you do think the little boy should have done? What would you do if it happens to you?
  • Then I will brainstorm words that describe bullying.
  • Then have your  draw a face shows how you feel about bullying.
  • Finally,  summarize what we learned.


Reading

Write Z z

Aim: The children will name and write Z z.

Vocabulary words: zebra, zero, zipper, zoo

Strategies:

  • First,  introduce the letters Z z with  "Have fun Teaching letter Z”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLu-bccANRg
  • Have your child  find the letters Z and z in words.
  • Then I will model writing Z z on a board or paper.
  • then  ask: What sound does the letters Z z make? What words begin with /z/? What kind of lines do we use when we write Z z?
  • Then give your child paper and pencil and Handwriting Book and write Z z.
  • Have your practice writing Z z in Activity P.

Math

Number 1-5


Aim: The children will learn to identify and create groups of up to three objects.

Vocabulary Words: groups, three

Strategies:
  • I will First, have your child arrange numbers 0-5, and count from 0-5, then count from 5-0.
  • Then distribute paper, or a mat and counters such as been, cereal, or any other objects to each child.
  • Then hold number of 1-3.
  • Then I will ask the children place  counter on their mat according to the number.
  • Have your child place them in order.
  • I will ask the children compare which group has more.
  • Then you make a group of counters from 1-3.
  • Ask: How many counters are on the group? How are you able to tell? (I counted)
  • Continue with different numbers of objects.

Practice for End of the Year Ceremony: Jesus Loves Me

Suggestions:

  • Have your child draw or color.
  • Have your child pray every morning.
  • Read to your child every day and ask questions.
  • Help in the daily chores.
  • Play games on ABCya!
  • Play Alphabet or Number Bingo, I Spy, legos, puzzles, exercise, or meditate.
