Dear Parents;

I will  also like to inform you that I will be contacting  parents this week. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Also,   you could  pick up your child's package at the school office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These are activities will be for your child to work at home. The addition booklets will be use for homework.

I would like to inform the parents that I have been making phone call again to find out how the family is doing, and to help you with your concerns about your child's work. I'm going to have a Zoom conference on April 29th, 30th and May 1st at 11:00 AM. I will called a group of parents for tomorrow's conference. The ID# is 764-301-9104. The children will be divide into four groups. I will let you know your child's group, and when to log into Zoom.

Pray:  Our Father

Pledge of Allegiance:

  • Ask your child what the colors of the flag means : red means courage; white means peace and purity; blue means justice.
  • How many stars are in the american flag (50).
Calendar:

Vocabulary Words: apple, alligator, acrobat, ant, astronaut, ax, again, alphabet, acorn 

  • First, have your child spell April
  • Then ask him for words with initial sound /a/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date? (Say day, month, number, year) Example: Today is Wednesday,  April  30, the year 2020.
  • Have the children count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.
  • Have your child sing  "There are Seven Days"

Religion:

God Is With Us

Aim: The children will learn to appreciate that  God is always with us.

Vocabulary Words: God, care, love, alone, together

Strategies:

  • Then I ask: What have we learn about God this year? How would you show that God is always with you?
  • Then tell your child that wherever they may go in the world, we should remember what we learn about God this year that God is always with us loving us; and  taking care of us. because he loves us. 

Language:

Opposites

Aim: The children will learn to recognize words that means opposite.

Vocabulary Words: up and down, of and on, under and over

Homework: P.68 in Handwriting Book

Math:

Exploring Subtraction

Aim: The children will learn to identify the equal sign; solve subtraction sentences; subtract from.

Vocabulary Words: minus sign, equal sign, how many are left

Strategies:

  • First, ask your child the following questions: What do we do in subtraction? What does the minus sign means? Where do we place the equal sign? Where do we write what is left?
  • Then I distribute six pennies to each child.
  • Then I will ask the children to count them.
  • Then I will tell the children a subtraction story sentence: There Jeremy had six pennies. He spend two pennies in the store. How much money he has  left? What did you do to solve the problem? What sign tells you to subtract?
  • Then I will tell your child a subtraction story and have them act out the story problem and write it down: One day Darwin went to the store to buy peanuts. He opened the bag and there were 6 peanuts. On his way home he ate 4. How may did he have? How many he ate? How many he has  left?
  • Have your child solve the problem.
  • Ask: What sign to tell you to subtract? What sign tells you how may are left?
  • Repeat the activity with different number of pennies  and record each subtraction sentence on paper.


Story Time: The Little Red Hen by Paul Galdone

Predict Outcomes

Aim: The children will listen to "The Little Red Hen"and predict outcomes.

Vocabulary Words: outcomes

Strategies

  • First remind the children that we are going to listen to a story about a hen who is very busy and likes to help around.
  • Then remind your child that that  helping others is something they nee to learned to do.
  • Then tell your child that they are going to listen to the story, "The Little Red Hen," which is about a hen, a mouse, a dog, cat who live in a barnyard, and listen to find out what happened when the Little Red Hen finds some grains of wheat.

  • Have the children notice the title, The Little Red Hen."
  • Then Ask: What does the tittle means? What does the author do? What does the illustrator does? 
  • Then tell that stories have a beginning, a middle, and a end.
  • Then have your child listen to the story,  and use  questions during the first reading to encourage the children to predict what will happen next in the story.
  • Have your child listen to the story, then stop and  ask: What do you think the Little Red Hen will do? What do you think the dog, the cat, and duck will do? Do you think they will help the Little Red Hen next time she needs help? Why do you think so?
  • Then continue continue listening to the story  will ask the following questions: What will the Little Red Hen will do, since her friends will not help?
