I hope you and your family stay healthy and that God guide through our hard time. My prayers will be with all of you and your family.

I will be contacting the parents this week. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Also, please pick up your child's package at the school office. These are activities will be for your child to work at home. You could pick up your child's packages at school from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Those children who are more advance with the handwriting could work individually with the My Sight Words handwriting Book and the other booklet. The addition booklet will be use for homework.

Calendar


Vocabulary Words: mother, mop, monkey, miracles, money, Monday, me, mirror, Mary
  • First, spell March
  • Then ask for words with initial sound /m/.
  • Then ask: How many days we have in a week?   What day are we in? What is the date?
  • Then ask  your child to count forward from 1-10, and from 10 to 1.
  • Then count in ordinals from 1st- 5th.
  • finally, ask your child sing  "There are Seven Days"

Religion

Anti-Bullying Curriculum

Aim:The children will learn how to prevent bullying.

Vocabulary Words: feelings, hurt, bully

Strategies:

  • Tell your child  that God made them wonderful, beautiful, and unique.
  • Then tell them that  there are people who may hurt their feeling, and they are called bullies.
  • Then tell your child that they should always tell an adult about it.
  • Ask the child how would they feel if someone hurt them physically, or called them names.
    Then I will tell the children that they are going to listen to the story "The Ant Bully"

  • Then review the story with your child.
  • Then ask: Who was bullied in the story? What did the bully do to the little boy? Who also became a bully? What did the bully do to the ants? What would you do think the little boy should have done? What would you do if it happens to you?
  • Finally, review what he has learned.

Writing

Write uppercase R

Aim: The children will identify uppercase S and lowercase s, and identify the initial sound /kw/.


Vocabulary Words: radio, ring, rabbit, rainbow, record, rooster, robot, rake, run 

Strategies:
  • First introduce the letters R and r.
  • Have your child identify uppercase R and lowercase r.
  • Have your child name words with initial /r/.
  • Have your child watch: "English Hello Carrie" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npGArkqyWPY
  • Then tell your child that they are going to learn to write uppercase R.
  • Ask your child to describe what kinds of lines we use to write R (Write a line from top to bottom, then make a curve to the middle line, then make a slant line).
  • Have your child trace and write R in Activity p. 50 from the Handwriting Book.

Homework: Write Uppercase R in the notebook 3X.

Math

Exploring Addition

Aim: The children will learn to identify the equal sign and solve addition sentence with sums to 6.

Vocabulary Words: plus sign, equal sign, sum.

Strategies:
  • First, display two addition sentences, one with and one without an equal sign.
  • Have your child tell what is different about the second addition sentence.
  • Then have your child watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP__j1Fviaw
  • Have child make  six Easter eggs.
  • Then tell your child that they are going to help the Easter bunny distribute egg to the children on his town.
  • Then have your child make addition problems. For example :( 3 + 2 = 5)
  • Finally,  have your child solve the addition problem.

Science

Aim: The children will learn how plants grow.

Vocabulary Words: fruit, seed, seedling, soil, sunshine, water

Strategies:

  • Tell your child that plants change and grow.
  • Then ask them what can they do to help a plant grow.

  • Ask your child:What do plants need in order to grow? 
  • Have your child draw a seed.

Suggestions:
  • Have your child draw or color.
  • Have your child pray every morning.
  • Read to your child every day and ask questions.
  • Help in the daily chores.
  • Play Alphabet or Number Bingo, I Spy, legos, exercise, or meditate.
